DJ Grizz- Curtis Mayfield Mix

During a week where we mark the passing of one musical icon we've a mix dedidacted to another Soul music giant taken too early- the great Curtis Mayfield! From his work with the vocal group The Impressions in the 60's, through his 70's solo heights he was a grammy winner, political activist, a label owner in Curtom Records as well as being a sublime songwriter!

Here a selection of my Mayfield highlights- starting with Pusherman from the soundtrack to Superfly, monsters like You're So good To Me and Gimme Your Love, Minstrel and Queen with The Impressions (a fave for reggae covers) and ending on some soulful gospel with Jesus... plus more of his work to celebrate him.
